Echo JIAO is newly appointed as Training Officer for LEAD China in Beijing. She is reponsible for coordinating and implementing LEAD training program. Echo JIAO got bachelor's degree on economy from the first branch of People's University in 1987. Before joining LEAD, she worked in a American consulting company conducting internal training. She also gained rich experience in training and markting from state owned enterprise, foreign company and NGO. Echo JIAO has been concerning enviromental problem and sustainable development for a long time. She would like to contribute her experience to LEAD as well as to fullfill her interest in this field.

贺伟 Wei He

| LEADnet Coordinator |
Mr. He received his bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University In Beijing. Before he became LEADnet coordinator in 1995, he worked as a software engineer in China Educational Electronic Corporation. His specialties are software development, hardware design and client/server solutions. DOS, OS/2, UNIX and Windows are all the operating systems he masters. He is also a professional programmer and has written lots of programs in different kinds of programming languages. In the recent year, he began to work on and soon became good at designing Win 32 programs, VxDs for Windows 95, applications running on UNIX and network applications using different protocols. At this stage, he is practicing database supported web publication, which is used on LEAD-China Internet and Intranet.

蒋新东 Xindong Jiang

Mr. Jiang graduated from the Beijing TV University in 1983, majoring in electrical engineering. He had been working with the Beijing Remote Control technology Company, designing and making wireless remote-control equipment. He won the First Prize in science and technology innovation awarded by Beijing Science Commission for remote-control equipment he developed, and the first prize in science and techology awards for his work of duplex wireless station. Mr. Jiang joined LEAD-China in 1994 as LEADnet coordinator, in charge of the network management, system maintenance and LEADnet training and services for LEAD-China associates.

李来来 Lailai Li

| National Program Director |
Li Lailai is Director of the Institute of Environment and Development in Beijing which is the host institute for LEAD-China. She received her bachelor's degree in English, and a master's and a doctorate in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh in the United States. Prior to her appointment as the National Program Director of LEAD-China, L. Li worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Sociology and Anthropology at Peking University, where her research was focused on the interactions between the Chinese traditional values, agricultural activities and environmental impacts. Since November 1997, she has been Director of Information Resources at LEAD International (part time). She participates in the development of LEAD's information strategy, thereby fulfilling her interest in exploring the role of information and information technology in the human endeavor toward the greater sustainability of society.

王承波 Chengbo Wang

WANG Chengbo is a program officer, economist and researcher at the National Training Center for Executives in Poor Areas of China, where he is responsible for project implementation and training. He maintains close contact with various international organizations and plans to concentrate on studies of rural development and poverty alleviation. He has a master's degree from the Biology College of Beijing Agricultural University(1991). He has received additional training in project management, economic development and computer operation in China and abroad, and he is right now a PhD candidate in Environmental Economics in Renmin University of China and expected to get the degree in June of 2002. Since 1995, he has been involved in LEAD-China Program activities, and now he is Fellow of Cohort 5.
